‘Flaunt’ asserts appearance as an active force: never superficial, never passive. It is how presence is built, how visibility is claimed, how the self is performed, and how vulnerability is both shielded and staged. Across portraiture, photography, hair, adornment, wearable form, and transformed materials, the exhibition brings together twelve artists who treat appearance not as surface adornment, but as action – who push ordinary materials into something ceremonial, excessive, or unmistakably one’s own. Bodies are extended, reworked, and amplified; and materials are heightened, layered, and re-signified.
In ‘Flaunt’, appearance and outfits are not treated as superficial decoration, they determine how people act, how they are read, how they communicate, and how they move through the world. It is a force that exceeds the body while remaining inseparable from it: constructed, performed, and continually in motion.
