Exhibition Information
‘LOOK HERE’ is a joyful multi-sensory exhibition showcasing colorful drawings and paintings, a diverse drawn inventory of food and transport, wrapped sculptures with found objects inside, weavings full of textures and surprises, and ceramic animal heads with their own personalities. Featured are the unique voices and personal interests of six artists based out of the Center for Creative Works progressive art studio: Kelly Brown, Cindy Gosselin, Clyde Henry, Tim Quinn, Brandon Spicer-Crawley, and Allen Yu.
Co-curators (L-R): Mary, Jennifer and Paige. Photo by Holden Blanco
Co-curated by Jennifer Gilbert of Jennifer Lauren Gallery, and Mary T. Bevlock and Paige Donovan of Center for Creative Works, this exhibition spotlights art’s ability to communicate in many different ways. Together they selected works alongside the six artists, enabling all voices and opinions to be heard. They have carefully thought about ways for you to access the exhibition, in a way that suits you, be that through: looking, watching films about the artists and their practices with embedded American Sign Language (ASL), engaging with specially created touch pieces, smelling Yu’s chocolate drawings, reading braille, or taking part in a tour. Newly commissioned portraits by Mary T. Bevlock also feature for each artist.
We can’t wait for you to explore our celebratory, vibrant exhibition, full of rainbow colors, touchable elements and a focused attention given to each individual artist. For more information about the events programme that accompanies this exhibition, please click here or the button below.
