Takashi Iga was born in 1970 and began creating artwork in the 1990s. He has been with kiki!!CREATIVE in Japan since 2022, and is rather a quiet individual. He is best known for his cat illustrations, a long running series drawn with coloured pencils on kraft paper, using magazine pictures, photographs and other visual references for inspiration. Perhaps due to a remarkable photographic memory, he sometimes draws dozens of the same cat image each with slight variation. While grids or clouds are used as the background of some illustrations, polka dots also quite often appear. Finally, he likes to paint other paper to use as a backdrop for his cat drawings.
