tour of shinichi sawada: messengers in new york

Hear from Massimiliano Gioni, Artistic Director of the New Museum in New York as he explores Messengers, an exhibition of new and important work by Shinichi Sawada. While rooted in traditional techniques, Sawada’s ceramics possess an otherworldly beauty, situated in a language of his own making. Gioni reflects a decade after curating Sawada’s work in The Encyclopedic Palace at the Venice Biennale in 2013, and speaks on the artist’s lasting impact.

"Messengers" is organised in partnership with Jennifer Lauren Gallery, Manchester, United Kingdom.
